FINITE Collection

FINITE Ts

Driven by concerns for our wee blue sphere and the reduction in its inhabitants’ diversity, our range of FINITE Ts focus on species threatened with extinction. Unfortunately, we had a long list to choose from but have initially plumped for the Eastern Lowland Gorilla and the Bengal Tiger. Magnificent creatures, we’re sure you’ll agree. And they look fabulous on toddlers.

Gorilla – BabyG
Cannon’s a rather brave young man. Some would say perhaps a little too fearless, but he’s super-fierce in his Gorilla T. And he’s quite proud to sport this particular Gorilla that he recently learned heralds from the Democratic Republic of “Combo”. Continue »

Totemic: Ceremony and rebranding the Royal Family

We here at NOON are positively squealing with delight at the exalted imminence. April 29th it is. Party hats and fake moustaches are purchased. Now with baited breath we await the looming national betrothal of the Great British Crown Prince William (a bit German) and Kate Middleclass. The associated ancient pomp and pageantry with all those peculiar customs and behaviors, will be largely absent, we are told.

Though, hardly will it be a hasty shuffle through Chelmsford’s approved registry office on a dreary Monday morning. But we can rest assured, the marketing opportunity won’t be missed. A Spring day at Westminster Abbey will function as the launch party for the “Wills and Kate” re-branding of the Royal Family as relevant, more modern, in-touch. We’ll have a Little Miss Princess from Roger Hargreaves’ Mr Men brand franchise, Procter & Gamble are launching special-edition packaging for its best-selling dishwashing detergent, Fairy Liquid (Dreft, outside the UK) Continue »

NOON:REUSE Tote Bags

NOON's heroic, grocery toting eco-warriors

REUSE TOTES
Fed up with the sight of witches’ knickers, roadside daisies, urban tumbleweed or tundra ghosts, look no further. NOON’s 100% organic cotton eco-warriors are here; Return, Ampersand, Heart and Infinity.
Heart: Dedicated and eternally dependable in the tightest of corners.
Infinity: A tenacious little devil and a master of disguise.
Ampersand: Fluid and always willing to go the extra mile.
Hard Return: Tough-as-nails, the unequivocal enforcer of the reuse principle.

Wine on a boat, picnic in the park or simply embellishing the chore of the grocery run, our four hero totes are handy, hard-wearing and ideal for showing-off at the supermarket as well as putting stuff in. All can comfortably accommodate a decent cabernet, corkscrew, wooden cheese platter, 2 glasses wrapped in a small blanket, half a pound of Stilton, 2 apples, 2 pears, a couple of walnuts, napkins, a box of crackers and all necessary implements.

Our World Is Shrinking

We’re rather proud of the latest dramatic installment in our FINITE collection. This 22×30 four-color (plus varnish) hand-pulled, screen print poster is now available on Etsy and the Goods site and, like its subject, is in such limited supply – we’re looking at a run of just 25. Featuring some of world’s most endangered species, it carries the rather alarming statistic that we’re heading towards an extinction at a rate of about one every 20 minutes, mainly due to habitat destruction. And in that same 20 minutes, worldwide, we will destroy 1,200 acres of forest and emit 180,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Signs & signification

Maritime Code for "Communicate with me!"Maritime Code for “Communicate with me!”

The other day, I came across the tragic story of British mathematician Alan Turing – a man credited with breaking impenetrable German codes and ‘inventing’ the computer. Pondering this genius who suffered chemical castration for his sexual preferences, I began to wonder about communication, ciphers and language and whether these innovations were essentially inspired by battle, or at least competitive advantage. This got me thinking about the exclusivity of language, how that relates to brands, cultures as well as institutions and professions and a whole bunch-load of stuff from my college days…

So I stopped thinking about that.
